The problem

Hollow Hill roasted three coffees and sold all of them in the same unmarked kraft bag with a sticker on the front. Online, customers picked by reading the description twice. In a cafe, staff had to open the bag to know what was in it.

What we made

A wordmark, and a label system with three tiers — house, seasonal and single origin — that differ by paper stock and one band of colour rather than by new artwork each time. Bags in two sizes, a retail tin, a wholesale carton, and a print spec sheet the roastery hands to any printer.

Three roasts you can tell apart from across the counter.

The result
The three roasts read apart from across a counter. Hollow Hill moved from one bag size to a graded range and signed its first two cafe accounts in the season after launch. New seasonals go to print without coming back to us.
